It’s never a straight line.

Growing up.

I grew up a pretty average kid, in a middle-income semi-rural setting in Australia. Except we use to spend month upon month upon month exploring the Australian Outback. We did school by correspondence or by the air (that's me in the red check hat doing school work), slept under the stars, and often didn't see other humans for weeks. I learned math while sandwiched between two smoking parents in the front seats of a Series II Landrover; calculating that if we have X gallons of gas/petrol, and use about X gallons per mile, will we have enough to get to the next town three days away. I look back and think, “how lucky I was.”

Performance Sport.

I've had a passion for individual sports since I did my first race back in Australia. Today, I'm still competing and loving it. Early in my sporting career, I bounced between marathons, ultras, and bikes. And while I wasn't world-class in either discipline, I was above average in all. Ironman found its way into my life. I’ve raced World Championships in Kona and been on National Championship podiums. I have come 2nd in 50mile running races, half ironman and everything between. Now, I appreciate sport more for friendships, and like nothing more than being on my gravel bike with my family at the finish line.

Global presence.

I love what I do. I love meeting people, sharing what I have learned in leadership and customers. My goals are always practical and actionable impact. Rather than focusing on the untouchable future, I take an anthropological approach and focus on where customers are heading, scan the near horizon for emerging technologies and disruptive shifts in consumer behavior, and translate these into pragmatic plans for digital transformation. I love to write, and my views have appeared in a wide range of international publications, including Forbes, Fortune, Inc, Digiday, and the Wall Street Journal.
