If you have concerns regarding AI's effect on your career, it is time to embrace it.

What Designers and Copywriters Can Do to Train Themselves in AI

(This commentary is entirely outside of the need for AI regulation.)

Firstly, AI is rapidly changing the world of design and copywriting—some for good, some for bad. And for those who don't know my stance, Human Intelligence (HI) will not be replaced by AI. It is HI + AI. Only humans can do human things. Emotional tasks (creation, contact, heartfelt messages, and branding) will remain in the realm of HI.

However, AI-powered tools are used to create everything from marketing materials to product designs. As a result, it is more important than ever for designers and copywriters to be familiar with AI and how to use it to their advantage and to grow their careers.

Here are some specific tips:

There are several reputable providers of AI training, such as Udacity and Coursera. Another option is to attend conferences and workshops on AI in design and copywriting. Most important, though, is to play with the various tools. Dedicate time every week to learn; many free and paid tools are available, such as Adobe Sensei and Google Cloud AI Platform. And Shutterstock has embedded OpenAI's DALL-E 2.
